About the role
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the CPIC Supervisor, processes police incident reports, ensuring accurate entry into the Police Information Management (IEIS) system and associated police information systems.
(1) Answers calls from the public for routine incidents as identified by service delivery policy and screened by Communications Centre, processes all details of police information report including supplementary reports, directly from victim onto the IEIS system, utilizing appropriate codes, issue case number to victim, notifies Communications Centre if any change to the report requires dispatch or notifies district if further investigation is required.
(2) Enters TSA and CC if combined, AGRA, and municipal warrants to IEIS system and CPIC.
(3) Enter citation tickets (SOTI’s) to IEIS system.
(4) Other related duties as required.
Competencies
(1) Minimum Grade 12 or Grade 12 equivalent and fully competent in the use of the English language.
(2) Efficient typist (minimum 50 wpm), word processing and computer knowledge with previous office experience.
(3) Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with persons in an efficient and professional manner.
(4) Must be willing to work shifts.
(5) Minimum of three months experience on IEIS, and knowledge of the Justice system, court documents, legal terminology, Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics incident based reporting rules, Criminal Code, Provincial Statutes, Municipal bylaws, Traffic Safety Act, etc. and departmental policy with respect to police operations and procedure relating to incident reports.
