This position will be responsible for intermediate
level technical support at a secondary school.
At times this position will also be assigned to special projects that
require a routine set of instructions to be followed towards the completion of
the project. This position will report
to the Manager, Technical Services.
Position Details Full time, term position from April 13/26 to May 14, 2027. This position works Monday to Friday, from 7:30am-4:00pm.
Duties And Responsibilities Provides technical support to end users in the form of
troubleshooting and fixing problems related to Windows and Macintosh computers,
tablets, printers, mobile and peripheral devices.
Installs and configures basic desktop applications,
desktop images and provides application support.
Maintains user accounts on Active Directory including
basic administration on File, Print and Application Servers as designated.
Troubleshoots Internet connectivity issues and minor
network and wireless problems.
Writes basic instructions for end users when
necessary.
Maintains relevant technical documentation when
changes are implemented.
When assigned to special projects, follows
instructions set by the Manager.
Uses an Incident Management System/ Work Order System.
Liaises and collaborates with team members,
stakeholders and user groups to discuss technology enhancements or changes
required.
Performs other assigned comparable duties which are
within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class
specification.
Required QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma plus a two-year Diploma in a
relevant Information Technology track or an equivalent combination of relevant
education and experience.
Four years’ experience in the technology department of
a complex environment supporting a large and varied user base.
Ability to use good judgment and initiative in
identifying, adapting, and applying procedures and approaches to resolve
problems.
Ability to communicate effectively in the explanation
and clarification of information both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated evidence of sound interpersonal skills
with a positive customer-oriented attitude.
Ability to work independently with minimal
supervision.
Physical ability to perform the required duties.
Valid B.C. driver’s license.
