Position Summary
Working at the Wellness Center, this position will be responsible for the following tasks:
Work as part of a team and be responsible for collaborating with team members to achieve common goals. This may involve coordinating efforts, sharing resources, and providing support to team members.
Provide information relating to fitness programs, memberships and assist with facility bookings.
Responding promptly to inquiries and resolving any conflicts or issues with staff and members
Collaborating with different teams to create strategies and solve problems
Assisting in the development and implementation of procedures to improve communication and efficiency
Assist the supervisor to ensure daily tasks are being completed
Train new staff and to ensure they are competent in their role as Wellness Centre Assistant
Assist with ensuring staff are following the direction of the supervisor within the office
Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Minimum level of formal education required for the position
1 year certificate or equivalent education
Specific course(s), certification, qualification, formal training or accreditation required for the position
Additional Requirements
Field(s) of Study
Must be a full-time post secondary student at Confederation College on a semester break
Must be returning to Confederation College as a full time post- secondary student in May 2026
Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident protected person, or an international student who is legally eligible to work in Canada.

Typical number of years of experience, in addition to the necessary education level, required to perform the responsibilities of the position
Less than one (1) year
Type of Experience
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to provide program information to prospective facility clients
Preference will be given to 1st year students returning next year.
First Aid & CPR are required. Basic knowledge of the Wellness Centre and use of equipment, good physical condition and the ability to multi-task require
