About The Role The primary objective of the Project Assistant is to support the Project Engineer throughout all phases of a project, including development, planning, and execution. This position is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining all project-related technical documentation, including engineering drawings, equipment data sheets, safety, quality and construction documents. This is a 9-month contract role.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Maintain and track all changes to project documents and control drawing revisions to support as-built documentation.
  • Maintain an organized electronic document control system (EDMS) to ensure traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review supplier and contractor engineering drawings to ensure compliance with document numbering and asset coding standards.
  • Coordinate the flow of technical documents between internal departments, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Organize and support site visits, meetings, and design reviews while tracking action items and deadlines.
  • Manage procurement activities in SAP, including purchase requisitions, work orders, and goods receipts.
  • Track project expenditures and update schedules to support regular progress reporting against budgets.
  • Assist in compiling comprehensive turnover packages for plant operations, including O&M manuals and inspection reports.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

What We’re Looking For

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent technical qualifications gained through relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in heavy industry or project environments.
  • Proficiency in drafting software (AutoCAD), experience working with SAP, familiarity with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), and proficiency in Microsoft tools (MS Project, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of project management procedures, cost control, and scheduling.
  • Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of cement technology and manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
