Status: Permanent / Full time (35hrs weekly)

Department: Finance and Administration

Direct supervisor: Senior Director, Finance and Administration

Location: Kuujjuaq

The Nunavik Housing Bureau (NHB) provides comfortable, safe and affordable homes adapted to Inuit needs and culture. Through its programs and services, it contributes to the development of vibrant, sustainable and safe communities.

FUNCTION AND RESPOSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Finance & administration Director, the Receptionist is the to build, monitor and maintain a positive relationship with employees and NHB external partners.

  • Welcome visitors to our head offices
  • Keep records of employees who are in the building
  • Maintain records of employee and housing managers extension
  • Verify and ensure that the photocopying machine is working properly
  • Assist employees with office supplies needs
  • Provide basic information to visitors and tenants
  • Redirect the request of visitors or callers to the appropriate contact persons within the organization
  • Register incoming mail and distribute accordingly
  • Assist in the distribution of tenant’s statements
  • Dispatch out going mail
  • Classify travel warrants
  • Prepare end of year document for entering into the archive system
  • Perform any other task requested by the Senior Director, Finance and Administration or Assistant Director
  • All other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar position.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Secondary V diploma or equivalent experience

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong communication skills
  • Capable of working independently or in a team
  • Organized

At the Nunavik Housing Bureau (NHB), our mission is to provide comfortable, safe and affordable homes adapted to Inuit needs and culture. Since 1999, together with our partners, we have contributed to the development of northern housing in Nunavik. We house 98% of Nunavik’s population, for a total of nearly 14,000 people.
