Here’s the opportunity:
As thePartnerships Specialist (Fundraising), you will support Futurpreneur Canada’s partnership activities in all areas of fundraising and development with an emphasis on reporting, preparing and drafting funding and grant proposals for new and existing funders, coordinating events and supporting the stewardship of new and current partners so that we can help more diverse young entrepreneurs start and succeed.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Partnerships your contributions will include key tasks at all stages of the relationship cycle with current and prospective funding partners, as well as research that supports strategy development and ecosystem partnerships. By ensuring Futurpreneur’s partners are receiving timely, high-quality reports and updates, you will contribute to the long-term sustainability and success of the organization.
This existing role is a permanent, full-time position based in Toronto, ON. The incumbent will be working on our hybrid work model, requiring minimum 2 days in office per week.
What you will do:
Funding and Grant Preparation, Writing, Editing, and Reports 60 %
- Conduct prospect research and develop briefs to support pipeline growth; identify and recommend new funding opportunities and engagement strategies
- Draft, edit, and coordinate submission of corporate funding proposals and reports for corporate and government partners. This includes assisting with the research, conceptualizing, designing, and preparing of new proposals and funding applications, as well as writing and submitting impact reports and associated materials with the aim of securing and diversifying financial support from foundations, corporations, government stakeholders and donors
- Maintain grants and partnership agreements through accurate record-keeping, documentation, and file maintenance; leveraging the CRM system and other tools
- Coordinate with respective point persons, ensuring awareness of application or report due dates and format, verification of application and reporting submission requirements
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager, Partnerships to build, maintain and track Futurpreneur’s commitments to ensure compliance and delivery of program impacts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track deliverables, deadlines and draft impact reports on time and as required
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and ongoing research required to sustain an up-to-date prospect list of funders and opportunities relative to sustainable program capacity, and development.
Coordination of Fund Development, including Strategy and Solicitations 40 %
- Support with the planning and execution of all Futurpreneur’s corporate partnership campaigns, including email, special events, and prospecting initiatives
- Monitor community trends and opportunities
- Coordinate all funding acknowledgement activities and other means of partner appreciation along with the Senior Manager, Partnerships, including timely communication to funders
- Maintain accurate records and informational reports including tracking mechanisms to link specific partners to Futurpreneur’s campaigns and initiatives
- Working with the Marketing & Communications team to spotlight and recognize funders in the media, social media, blogs and e-newsletters
- Support in writing other marketing, fundraising, and organization materials when needed.
- Represent the organization in relationships with select funders and corporate stakeholders, as required.
Requirements
What you will have:
- Relevant experience may include education with a focus in Government relations, Business and corporate fundraising or equivalent hands-on career experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, nonprofit development, or related fields including strong. experience researching, writing and submitting grant proposals and impact reports.
- Exceptional written English and report writing skills.
- Strong proficiency with CRM systems, fundraising platforms and donor databases.
- Knowledge of the economic development or/ and non-for-profit sector would be a strong asset.
- Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written) is an asset.
- Strong project management skills, and ability to balance multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic hybrid work environment.
- High attention to detail and deadline-driven.
- Collaborative and adaptable team player with ability to manage cross departmental collaboration and deadlines with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with internal groups and external organizations and stakeholders on various projects.
- Clear and confident communicator, skilled at engaging and connecting with diverse audiences.
