This is a Temporary Full-time contract positions for up to eighteen (18) months

You will work alongside top-tier radiologists, surgeons, and fellow technologists, utilizing the latest imaging technology to support patients through routine screenings, detailed diagnostics, and specialized procedures in one of Toronto's largest breast imaging facilities.

About the Medical Imaging Department
As part of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging with University Health Network and Women’s College Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital’s Medical Imaging Department provides a state-of-the-art environment for leading edge clinical practice, teaching, and research programs. An international leader in medical imaging, we conduct a large volume of various exams for diverse patient populations from the Emergency Department to outpatients and inpatients, including from Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital.
In this role you will:
- Perform high quality breast imaging procedures, using digital equipment in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography and ultrasounds, as well as breast interventional procedures
- Ensure ongoing digital quality assurance that meets mammography accreditation standards
- Demonstrate respectful and effective communication with patients, caregivers, and team members
- Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to continuing education that meets Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR) and hospital requirements
- Participate in related teaching and performing duties related to the job classification, as required

Mandatory

Current registration and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) and fulfilling the annual quality assurance requirements, as per CMRITO

Successful completion of Mammography 1 and 2 certificates from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
-
Completion of over 15 hours of continuing education in Mammography within the past 3 years and a commitment to ongoing continuing education that meets CAR and hospital requirements

Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program within the past 12 months or have current Level II: Basic Rescuer Certification
-
Previous Breast Imaging working experience, demonstrating knowledge and experience in digital radiography

Current membership with the CAMRT

Previous breast ultrasound experience

Previous working experience at an Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) Facility, including experience in performing OBSP digital quality control

Previous working experience at a CAR Mammography Accredited Facility and is a CAR Mammography approved member
Skills and Knowledge

Proven ability to prioritize and communicate respectfully within a supportive team environment

Demonstrate strong technical skills, ability to multi-task, and ability to use good judgment to ensure work is performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team

Ability to work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a busy, high patient volume setting; flexible and adaptable with the ability to accommodate unexpected situations while maintaining excellent image quality

Demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills, including relevant and accurate clinical documentation

Proven ability to learn new skills, adapt to process changes and participate in teaching new staff and students

Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, to ensure efficient email management and to maintain department and hospital communication on a daily basis

Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record
