DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
-
Follow and promote Ambipar’s HSE policies and procedures.
-
Participate in office and field safety inspections and report any incidents or hazards.
-
Ensure all fieldwork is conducted in compliance with HSE protocols.
Project Management:
-
Develop project scopes of work (SOWs), cost estimates, and proposals for biophysical and biological projects.
-
Coordinate field programs including wildlife sweeps/surveys, Rare plant surveys, and aquatic habitat assessments, wetlands etc
-
Facilitate appropriate regulatory submissions for
-
Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely and accurate completion.
-
Maintain client communication and satisfaction through regular updates and responsiveness to project needs.
-
Review analytical and field data to support reporting and environmental decision-making.
-
Oversee report preparation and quality review for accuracy, clarity, and technical defensibility.
-
Track financial performance, invoicing, and gross margin targets for assigned projects.
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
-
Provide technical mentorship, training, and performance feedback to Environmental Consultants and Biologists.
-
Support professional development through field training, competency evaluations, and formal reviews.
-
Assist with resource planning and scheduling to meet divisional workload and project timelines.
Technical Oversight:
-
Review and interpret environmental legislation, guidelines, and regulatory updates (e.g., BCER, AER, DFO, SARA, Wildlife Act).
-
Ensure compliance with applicable provincial and federal environmental requirements.
-
Provide guidance on data collection protocols for wildlife, vegetation, wetland, and aquatic habitat assessments.
-
Collaborate with subject matter experts and Indigenous partners where Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) integration is appropriate.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related discipline.
-
Minimum 5 years of relevant field and project management experience in biological or environmental consulting.
-
Professional designation required (e.g., P.Biol., R.P.Bio., P.Ag., or equivalent).
-
Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary field programs and biological reporting under regulatory frameworks (e.g., BC Water Sustainability Act, Fisheries Act, Wildlife Act, ESSG).

Proficient in MS Office, GIS mapping, and data management platforms.
