About Van Isle Containers By Make Space Van Isle Containers (www.vanislecontainers.com) is a proudly Canadian-owned and operated company located in Saanichton, BC.
We are a seasonal tire storage operation that delivers and pickups up sets of tires at dealerships and stores them in our shipping containers. Our Vancouver Island facility services our clients throughout Victoria, Nanaimo and North Island.
Job Description We require a full-time seasonal Driver to work with our team in our Saanichton, BC location. We are a seasonal tire storage facility who delivers and picks up sets of tires on/off rims at dealerships.
As a Driver, you will safely operate our 3-ton truck to transport and deliver tire sets to automotive dealerships. Responsibilities include unloading tire sets from the rear of the truck using a tire dolly and tailgate, and accurately scanning tire labels at each dealership using our tablet-based system to ensure correct delivery.
You will also load complete tire sets scheduled for return to our storage yard depot, ensuring they are scanned, stacked neatly, and secured properly in the truck. Tire sets are typically stacked up to six high during transport and may be stacked up to eight tires high inside the truck. All tires must be moved safely using a tire dolly between the truck and dealership locations.
This role requires continuous physical activity throughout the day. Drivers must be able to safely lift and move up to 80 lbs on a regular basis.
Experience
- Class 5 license with 5-year clean driver history. Copy of drivers license and driver abstract dated within the last 30 days must be provided.
- Experience driving 3-ton trucks with tailgate
- Experience driving in congested, high traffic areas and navigating tight spaces – training will occur to verify

Work Schedule
- Contract Length - 12-weeks, may be extended
- Monday to Friday (stat days off), with occasional Saturdays
- Overtime as needed
- Paid vacation on each pay period
Salary Range: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
