Repair & Renovations Technician
(Seasonal – Break-Up Period)
**Location:**Blachford Lodge, Northwest Territories
**Term:**April 18 – June 2, 2026 (with potential for extension)
**Work Schedule:**Lodge-based, continuous on-site schedule (typically 6 days per week)
**Travel:**Flights from Yellowknife and full room and board provided
About Blachford Lodge by Arctic Kingdom
Blachford Lodge is a remote, fly-in wilderness lodge located just outside Yellowknife, offering year-round experiences in a unique northern setting. Operating off-grid requires a hands-on, adaptable team capable of maintaining and improving infrastructure in a dynamic environment.
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, skilled individual with carpentry or construction experience to support repair and renovation work during the spring break-up season.
This is a lodge-based role where the successful candidate will live on-site for the duration of the term, working closely with a small team to complete a variety of projects across the property. Work will include structural repairs, general maintenance, and small renovations required to stabilize and prepare the lodge for the upcoming season.
Key Responsibilities

Perform carpentry and construction tasks, including framing, repairs, and finishing work

Complete repairs to cabins, guest areas, and staff accommodations

Support small renovation projects across the property

Assist with general maintenance and property upkeep

Carry out manual labour including lifting, demolition, material handling, and site preparation

Work safely with tools and equipment in a remote environment

Maintain clean and organized work areas

Support team priorities as needed during a dynamic operational period
Qualifications & Experience

Experience in carpentry, construction, or building maintenance

Comfortable using hand and power tools

Practical, hands-on problem-solving skills
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience in remote, camp, or outdoor work environments is an asset

Trade certification is an asset but not required
Working Conditions

Continuous on-site work in a remote, fly-in environment

Physically demanding work (lifting, carrying, working on feet for extended periods)

Exposure to variable and northern weather conditions

Small, team-based environment requiring flexibility and collaboration
