Salary Range**:** The full pay range for this role is $XX to $XX per hour. The target range for this position is $XX to $XX per hour. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities**:**

  • Support preparations for bid into renewable energy procurements, consultations, competitive analysis, presentation preparation, managing communications, research on municipalities, crown land applications etc.
  • Supporting project due diligence and bid submissions. Soft project management tasks, preparing presentations, supporting land acquisition, permitting, interconnection.
  • Supporting Community Engagement: Providing research and drafting responses for questions and concerns that come from the community, for energy storage, solar and wind projects, preparing presentations for internal and external meetings.
  • Various Project development tasks, including helping with permitting, land control, project management tasks.
  • Supporting cutting edge developments such as Agrivoltaics: Researching practices, attending webinars, providing written summaries of materials and supporting preparation of power point presentations and other external communications.

Goals of Internship**:**

  • A wide spread knowledge of the renewable development process across wind, solar and energy storage.
  • Participation in high pressure RFP situations and seeing projects develop from green field status.
  • Play a very key role in advancing jurisdictional commitments to net zero.
  • Supporting project needs through the development life cycle, from greenfielding to bid submissions to permitting and preliminary design and community engagement.
  • Becoming familiar with a growing and increasingly critical land use and siting policy and decision making for all forms of renewable energy and energy storage. This is an ever-evolving topic that our development team needs to be well informed to support and continue engaging our stakeholders with the most recent and relevant information.
  • Becoming familiar with project life cycle tasks, and the key pillars of project development - land control, interconnection and permitting.
  • Learning about the issues that come up, both for and against projects, and how to formulate arguments to the community that maintains support for our projects. Becoming involved in these issues helps to better appreciate and understand the pros and cons of renewable energy siting in communities and how to strategically angle a project to be supported by most community members.
  • Develop knowledge on convergence of government, associations and EDFps business i.e. hone various skills related to Public Affairs: public policy development, legislative processes, strategic communications, stakeholder management, corporate brand and reputation management). In addition, knowledge in electricity markets rules, governance and regulatory/implementation issues i.e., you get to learn how governments help or hinder building renewable energy projects.

Education/Experience**:**

  • Undergraduate Student preferred
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Renewable Energy, Engineering or related discipline.
