Eastside Branch / Full-Time 19-Month Contract / 35 Hours per Week
We’re searching for an individual with experience creating and leading programs and events to join our team! Someone with the ability to take an idea from conception and bring it to life. What You'll Do:
- Conceive, create, facilitate and evaluate effective programs and events across all ages in a variety of formats, including in-person, virtually and on/off site.
- Assist with initiating and fostering community partner relationships. Represent the library in the community through various events.
- Act as person in charge (PIC) at branch locations.
- Assist customers in the library with reader’s advisory, reference, and in-library technology.
- Assist with the hiring of Summer Reading Club students and facilitation of Summer Reading Club.
What We're Looking For:
- Collaborative, team-player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with developing and leading programs in a diverse environment across various ages.
- Excellent tech literacy and desire for continuous learning.
- Flexible with scheduling to accommodate programs and events and ability travel to various locations in Waterloo.
- Minimum college diploma plus 2 years of related experience. Child Development, Recreation & Leisure, or Human Services studies are preferred.
- Satisfactory vulnerable sector check is required and a condition of hire.
Schedule:
The regular schedule will be Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Thursdays 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., alternating Fridays and Saturdays 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Schedules are subject to change.
Friday and Saturday shifts will be at the McCormick Branch. All other shifts will be at the Eastside Branch.
The ability to work at any of our 4 library locations is required. Flexibility outside these times for scheduled events is required.
Salary, Wages & Benefits:
The starting wage is $30.90 per hour (level E).
