Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Summary The Centre for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) is one of the 3 RI-MUHC centres and houses more than 100 clinician-scientists and scientists across the different research sites of the MUHC and the Montreal General Hospital. By bringing more than 150M$ of funding over the past 5 years, our researchers study the genetic, environmental, and behavioural causes of disease, assess the health impact of new diagnostic approaches and clinical treatments, and evaluate the benefits, risks, and costs of health care services. We make direct links to health and disease that rapidly lead to impact on health outcomes, in both the short and long term.
The management and administrative team of CORE work in collaboration with the researchers and the RI-MUHC to provide support and generate a dynamic environment, helping them achieve the best research results.
The CORE being one the leading centre in Health Outcomes Research in Canada, the management promotes and encourages for its administrative team an organizational culture of collaboration, openness, sharing, continuous learning and neurodiversity.
General Duties Under the general supervision of the CORE Manager and in close collaboration with CORE Researchers, the incumbent:
- Provides general research-grant related administrative support to CORE Researchers, including the preparation and submission of payment requisitions, purchase orders, accounts opening and travel expense claims,
- Interfaces and communicates with Finance, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Grants Management, IT, Technical Services, Human Resources or other administrative division as required,
- Assists CORE Researchers with the preparation of Human Resources documentation, such as job posting, letters of offer and contracts renewal,
- Assists CORE Researchers with the coordination of grant registrations, Letters of Intent (LOIs), and final application submissions, on a request basis, and in close collaboration with the Researchers’ teams, over the life span of the application,
- Assists CORE Researchers with the formatting and online submission of final research publications, including journal articles and abstracts,
- In collaboration with the CORE manager, participates in the development, implementation and operations of the different scientific platforms and research centre committees,
- Engages actively in the organization and success of all the new and ongoing projects, such as scientific research day, researchers retreat, seminars, communication platforms, infrastructures management,
- Provides general administrative support, including liaising for services with housekeeping, security, IT, technical services, telecom, and mail and courier services,
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of workflow and provides input with the team

Education / Experience
- Collegial Diploma (D.E.C.),
- Two (2) years of related experience,
- Knowledge of the academia or university environment is an asset,
Required Skills
- Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
- Excellent knowledge of computer applications such as, Word, Excel and PowerPoint,
- High capacity to learn and use new softwares, techniques or work structure is an asset,
- Excellent organizational capacities, multitasking skills with problem-solving and goal-oriented attitude,
- Excellent active listening and interpersonal skills,
- Self-learning, initiative and adaptability skills are strong assets.
Additional information
Status : Full-time temporary. Maternity leave replacement (November 2026).
Pay Scale : $41,550.60- $62,353.20. Commensurate with education & work experience.
Work Shift : from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays
Work Site : 5252 boul de Maisonneuve O.
