Hybrid: 4 days in office and 1 day work from home

Reporting into the Director, Corporate Accounting and Reporting, this role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance, with a strong focus on bank reconciliations, treasury activities, sales tax preparation and accounting entries at the consolidated level.
In this role, you will:
- Perform and review daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support treasury operations, including coordinating the operational enquiries and assisting with banking requirements.
- Prepare sales tax calculations in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Record and validate accounting entries at the consolidated level, ensuring proper alignment with corporate reporting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the reporting function.
What we're looking for:
- College or University Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field
- 1 to 2 years experience working in Accounting
- A strong attention to detail and an appreciation and acumen for having detailed checks and balances in place
- Must be able to provide sound analysis and comparisons with some guidance
- Adaptive and ability to prioritize work
- Strong sense of ownership to meet commitments and deadlines
- Communicates with clarity; verbally and written
- Demonstrates strong business acumen, career driven and keen to learn and contribute
- Advanced computer skills in Excel, working knowledge of Power BI and macros an asset
- Experience using an Accounting Software such as Accpac Sage 300 or comparable an asset
- CPA, CFA, or similar finance/accounting designation is considered an asset
