Reporting into the Director, Corporate Accounting and Reporting, this role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance, with a strong focus on bank reconciliations, treasury activities, sales tax preparation and accounting entries at the consolidated level.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform and review daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support treasury operations, including coordinating the operational enquiries and assisting with banking requirements.
  • Prepare sales tax calculations in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Record and validate accounting entries at the consolidated level, ensuring proper alignment with corporate reporting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the reporting function.

What we're looking for:

  • College or University Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field
  • 1 to 2 years experience working in Accounting
  • A strong attention to detail and an appreciation and acumen for having detailed checks and balances in place
  • Must be able to provide sound analysis and comparisons with some guidance
  • Adaptive and ability to prioritize work
  • Strong sense of ownership to meet commitments and deadlines
  • Communicates with clarity; verbally and written
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen, career driven and keen to learn and contribute
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, working knowledge of Power BI and macros an asset
  • Experience using an Accounting Software such as Accpac Sage 300 or comparable an asset
  • CPA, CFA, or similar finance/accounting designation is considered an asset
