About the role
ADMINISTRATIVE RELATIONSHIPS
- Directly responsible to the Senior Director - Elementary Schools.
- Directly responsible for all certificated and classified personnel assigned to the school.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Administer the total operation of the school.
- Direct and supervise the personnel assigned to implement all functions of the school.
- Administer the District educational program in assigned attendance area.
- Provide continuous administration and evaluation of the prescribed instructional program.
- Participate as a member of the administrative team to actively implement the policies of the Board of Education and the requirements established in the California Education Code.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of District policies.
- Primary responsibility for evaluation of staff.
- Provide positive leadership and support to community involvement programs, professional organization, the Parent-Teacher Association, and parent education groups.
- Cooperate with Educational Services to provide inservice opportunities for teachers.
- Participate in the selection, assignment, and termination of school employees.
- Assist teachers to establish professional goals and objectives which will lead to the improvement of instruction.
- Direct development of the annual budgeting requirements for the school and participate in the development of the District budget.
Desirable Qualifications
- Academic
- Master’s degree in education or other allied field with graduate level training in curriculum.
- A valid California administrative credential.
- Professional Experience
- Five years of successful teaching experience at varied elementary levels.
- Successful experience as an elementary school principal, assistant principal, or other outstanding related experiences.
- Related Experience
- Leadership experience in school, community, professional, or youth organizations.
- Successful participation in, or contact with, endeavors other than the field of education.
