We are looking for an On-Call Elementary Teacher to support students at the Okanagan Indian Band Cultural Immersion School, nkmaplqs i snmamayatn kl sqilxwtet.

SUPPORTS NEEDED****** **
- Perform the regular duties of the Classroom Teacher who you are filling in for
- Follow established yearly overviews, unit plans, and day plans
- Support the student-centered learning program in place which enhances the explicit programs our school delivers
- Integrate students with disabilities and challenges in a positive and respectful manner
- Supervision duties to include classroom supervision, field trips, & recess/lunch supervision
- Implement positive discipline when required in accordance with the School Handbook, which includes Conflict Resolution and Restorative Justice
- Ensure children have a safe and secure learning environment
- Attend Language and Culture classes daily with students to ensure classroom management and to learn language alongside with students. This includes local outings which may include hiking
- In case of extended teacher absence, collaborate to complete student report cards and interim reports using school-wide format
- Classroom supervision and management and supervise field trips and other supervision duties as required
- Ensure children have a safe and secure environment
Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- **** Bachelor of Education, or equivalent
- Valid BC teaching certificate issued by the Teacher Regulation Branch or in the process of obtaining
- Current First Aid/CPR certificate or willing to obtain
**Preference may be given to those having knowledge of the Okanagan culture and traditions **
