We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Estimator / Project Coordinator to join our team.

Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
Direct Underground Inc. is seeking an experienced project coordinator to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). As an estimator/project coordinator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for watermain, sewer, and road construction projects. This includes reviewing project plans and specifications, conducting site visits, and working closely with the project management team to develop accurate and competitive bids. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction practices and materials, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in underground construction is preferred. Join our team and help us continue to deliver high-quality construction projects to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Review project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for watermain, sewer, and road construction projects Analyze project scope and requirements to determine materials, equipment, and labor costs Prepare and submit bids to potential clients in a timely manner Collaborate with project managers and coordinators, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate estimating and bid preparation Track and review project costs to ensure profitability and cost efficiency Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed Assist in the procurement of materials and subcontractor services
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an estimator in the watermain, sewer, and road construction industry
- Extensive knowledge of civil construction processes, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and locates.
- Valid G driver's license minimum and ability to travel to various job sites within the GTA area.
