Job # EXT CM-2025-09**-12-**17
This temporary full-time Lead Hand position is effective starting immediately to January 2, 2026, with a possible extension. This is to replace an existing position. This position is responsible to the Head Custodian to oversee and direct staff and assist with the cleaning, maintenance and security of the school buildings, grounds and related equipment.
Duties of the position include:
Working as a member of a team responsible for the cleaning and general maintenance of the school.
Oversee and direct work to other custodial staff under the direction of the Head Custodian.
Qualifications Required:
Grade 10 or equivalent, plus additional vocational training;
Must have several years of custodial experience (up to 1 to 3 years);
Must have a valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate;
Have a good knowledge of cleaning equipment, materials and methods and basic building maintenance;
A working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act;
Understand our electrical, mechanical and ventilation systems.
Must be physically fit in order to perform all the duties required;
Have demonstrated leadership qualities;
Effective oral and written communication skills;
Applicants must have the demonstrated ability to relate effectively with a variety of people, including students;
A thorough knowledge of the custodial operation procedures of the TLDBSB;
Hours of Work: 8hrs/day, 40hrs/week (days/afternoons-rotatingshifts)
Hourly Wage: $26.38
**Point Band:**6 (Unionized Position)
