Location - Downtown Toronto (Hybrid - 2 days per week) subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Lead hands-on development and technical design of complex Java-based enterprise applications, providing guidance and mentorship to the development team.
• Design and implement Microservices architectures and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, with contributions across backend and front-end (JavaScript/TypeScript) as needed.
• Own and deliver all development-related artifacts, ensuring code quality, performance optimization, and adherence to best practices.
• Design, optimize, and tune databases and batch processing solutions, handling large data volumes and complex SQL queries efficiently.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions; support deployments and production readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, independently analyze complex systems, and drive timely resolution of technical challenges.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• 10+years of hands-on development experience on complex java projects with at least 3–5 years in tech lead roles
• Strong experience in Microservices architecture and RESTful API development. Proficiency in front end development, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Strong database knowledge with ability to write complex SQL queries and performance tuning.
• Experience in batch processing and handling large data volumes with performance optimization.
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Ability to work independently and understand complex enterprise-level systems.
• Accountable for all the development related delivery artifacts

Skills : Java, Microservices, Database , IBM MQ, Spring Boot, RESTful (Rest-APIs)

Good-to-Have Skills (Preferred):-

• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and monitoring tools.

• Exposure to performance testing tools and tuning strategies.

• Domain experience in Banking

• Good communication skills to be able to engage with multiple stakeholders.

**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000–$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
