The Haida Gwaii Health Centre (also referred to as the Daajing Giids Clinic) is located on the first floor of the Xaayda Gwaay Ngaaysdll Naay (Haida Gwaii Hospital). It serves residents of Daajing Giids, HlGaagilda (Skidegate), Tll.aal (Tlell) and K'il Kun (Sandspit). It brings together a multidisciplinary team of health care providers, including family doctors and allied health professionals. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (except for STAT holidays).

There are four practices (A, B, C and D) serving the South End community.

Based within the modern Haida Gwaii Hospital and Health Centre, locums can expect a diverse rural practice that includes emergency care, inpatient services, and longitudinal family medicine in a collaborative, team-based environment. The facility serves a close-knit population and supports a full range of services, including outpatient care and low-risk obstetrics, with strong collegial support and opportunities for teaching and mentorship.

Daajing Giids, located on the south end of Graham Island, is known for its rich Haida culture, welcoming community, and access to world-class outdoor activities—from kayaking and hiking to fishing and beachcombing. This locum experience is ideal for physicians seeking meaningful, community-centered practice in one of British Columbia’s most stunning and culturally vibrant regions.

About BC Family Doctors

Hospitals and Health Care
2-10 employees
Founded in 1989

The Society of General Practitioners of BC (SGP) has a robust history of standing for the needs of family physicians and their patients. In 2020, after 30 years as SGP, we became BC Family Doctors to better reflect our community and support our purpose of building an environment where all family doctors thrive.

We believe that whether you provide longitudinal community-based family medicine, hospitalist medicine, addiction medicine or maternity care, we are all family doctors.

Whether you did a rotating internship or have a CCFP designation, we are all family doctors.

Our commitment to our patients and our expertise in primary care unites us all.
