JOB DESCRIPTION
KML Windows Inc., a division of Andersen Corporation, is currently seeking a Maintenance Millwright. This is a full-time position responsible for “hands on” maintenance support to maintain, troubleshoot and repair all production equipment and support maintenance initiatives including Kaizen.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assure productivity, quality and safety goals are met Provides and implements goals to achieve department and corporate objectives with minimal direction Troubleshoots and repairs all mechanical functions, mechanical drive units, industrial hydraulic and pneumatic powers, plumbing architectures, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, motor controls and servo controllers, safety circuits which include E-stops, light curtains, floor mats, safety relays and safety switches Evaluates equipment for any repairs, enhancements, or upgrades and completes work as needed; this includes some of the following: design, layout, sheet metal work, welding, machine shop work, carpentry and painting Uses continuous improvement methodologies As directed - coaches and leads other Maintenance personnel including apprentices or assistants Demonstrates technical expertise in maintenance functions Problem solves issues of high complexity in advanced electrical/mechanical systems Serves as a member of the department’s resource team, aiding as required - including participation in any formal or assigned project work and support requirements Promotes responsibility and accountability for a safe working environment Works with the engineering group to implement design changes of equipment, jigs, and fixturing for enhancement, upgrades or replacements as well as new plant layouts, moving of equipment and additions of equipment Works with the IT department for the implementation of production equipment Works with external contractors as needed, in both production and other related areas of the plant Supports production overtime needs and shows flexibility toward departmental and business needs Performs other related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid certificate of qualification as a Millwright (with electrical experience/aptitude) and 5 years’ experience in related field Additional technical licensing or formal skills/experiences are preferred PC and PLC knowledge for upgrading, troubleshooting and machine functions via touch screen controls and machine operation software is preferred Advanced maintenance skills: carpentry, millwrighting, electrical, plumbing, welding, machine piping, HVAC and dust collection Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems Ability to read and understand mechanical, fluid power, building, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and prints Possesses excellent troubleshooting, reasoning, analytical problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication (oral and written), time management, organizational and prioritization skills Good computer skills with Microsoft Office and ability to learn Andersen’s Enterprise Asset Management system (used to track work throughout the facility related to Maintenance Functions i.e.: Work orders, PM’s and inventory of all spare parts) Knowledge of safety practices such as lock-out/tag-out and proper use of PPE Strong customer focus Ability to frequently bend, stoop, lift product and maneuver product (up to 50 lbs.)
Ability to be a licensed lift equipment operator
Ability to work a straight afternoon shift SHIFT: 3:30pm: 2:00am, Monday to Thursday COMPENSATION: $37.56 - $44.42 This is an existing position.
