About the role

True North Sports + Entertainment is seeking a motivated individual with leadership experience to join our team!

As a Security Coordinator, you’ll contribute significantly to security operations and support guest experience initiatives across venues and events. Your responsibilities will also involve maintaining the highest standards of safety and security while providing essential administrative support to deliver exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.

What to be excited for in this role:

Security Services

  • Enforce security protocols and delegate duties within the security office to ensure all processes are carried out to established standards.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for 24/7 security operations, including management of patrol systems, access control, CCTV, staff scheduling, key logging, delivery coordination, and various security procedures and documentation.
  • Provide 24/7 technical support for security equipment including X-ray machines, magnetometers, screening systems, and IT infrastructure.
  • Assist in managing inventory and procurement of security equipment and supplies such as uniforms, passes, access control materials, office supplies.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling operations including shift assignments, coverage arrangements, and performance management support to maintain optimal staffing levels across all security operations.
  • Serve as security lead for concerts, hockey games, and off-site events at venues such as Burton Cummings Theatre, True North Square, and festivals.

Guest Experience Support

  • Manage event documentation including event detail sheet creation, post-event report reviews, and quarterly board report updates.
  • Coordinate with Business Intelligence department for data tracking and analysis.
  • Take part in recruitment through pre-screening, interviews, job fairs, and new employee onboarding processes.
  • Coordinate credential and access control systems by printing name tags, employee credentials, and access materials for all TNSE employees.
  • Oversee training compliance and staff management for casual employees, including digitized tracking of security licensing, SMART Choices, First Aid/CPR certifications.
  • Perform other duties as required that align with the responsibilities of the role and the needs of the organization.

What we need from you:

  • At least 1-3 years of experience in leadership or management positions.
  • Skilled in leading large, diverse front-line teams.
  • Ability to adapt and modify training or coaching approaches to suit different leadership styles.
  • Committed to professionalism, integrity, and ethical leadership.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with active listening and the ability to engage effectively with diverse personalities and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and results-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment, independently managing deadlines and corresponding workload.
  • Ability to exhibit discretion and confidentiality as required when dealing with confidential information.
  • Must obtain a valid Manitoba Security License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and a willingness to learn new technologies as needed.
  • Experience in security, administrative roles, sports and venue industry management will be considered an asset.
  • Physically able to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
