Position Overview
The Registration Clerk is responsible for the accurate and efficient scheduling and registration of all patients in the hospital ADT and Scheduling System.
EDUCATION
Ontario Secondary School Diploma, required. Administrative or Secretarial diploma preferred Medical/Psychiatry terminology an asset Courses in Mental Health an asset
Experience
2 years recent relevant registration, admitting and appointment scheduling experience required. Previous clerical experience in a hospital/medical environment preferred. Strong knowledge base of medical and psychiatric terminology. Knowledge of patient scheduling systems preferred. Strong customer service skills and experience required. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and problem-solve. Demonstrated ability to accurately type a minimum of 35-45 wpm. Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office; Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook email. Microsoft Word, Excel, PM Launch, PowerPoint. Call-Centre or similar telephone customer service experience preferred. Evidence of ongoing education such as post-secondary courses, seminars, workshops, etc. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability for attention to detail while providing high standards of accuracy and efficiency. Demonstratedability to manage stressful situations with empathy. Must be prepared to work in all areas of Mental Health Services as needed. Good work and attendance record required.
