SCADA RTU Engineer/Designer

Work location: Mississauga

Within the Energy department, as a SCADA/RTU Engineer/Designer

Your responsibilities

  • SCADA, RTU, HMI design and programming;

  • Generate and edit content for Substation HMI graphics and DNP point mapping;

  • Create and interface Network Monitoring System (NMS) data bases for SCADA applications;

  • Troubleshoot and analyze network and communication problems;

  • Functional testing and verify in-service readings;

  • Ability to design and interpret electrical, controls drawings, schematics and specs for SCADA/RTU interface;

  • Collaborate with multiple teams across different disciplines;

  • Drive project schedules while working closely with design and construction to ensure milestones and completion dates are on track;

  • Visit client’s sites for configuration support, testing as well as remotely located design working sessions;

  • Perform other administrative and technical functions in support of engineering activities;

  • Liaise with engineering, document control, ISO quality control standards for compliance.

Your profile

  • College Diploma in electrical or computer science or higher;

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Utility SCADA/RTU design or HMI graphic design or system integration;

  • Understanding of integration of RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs in electrical substations;

  • Familiar with Network / communication design;

  • Familiarity with Cybectec, RTAC Gateway/RTU equipment and cyber security;

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel and Word.
