Role: Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance

Status: Full Time, Permanent

Reports to: Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

Location: Markham

Compensation: $74,817 - $118,211

Please note that the compensation range listed includes base salary and potential incentive pay. Incentives such as bonuses are not guaranteed and depend on individual performance and company results. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications.

Summary:
As Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance , supporting Financial Planning, Corporate Finance, and other business functions, you will support long-range planning and strategic initiatives, leveraging strong financial modelling skills together with accumulated business understanding. The Senior Financial Analyst will also more broadly support the business in achieving overall business goals, including providing a suite of insightful reporting linked to business strategy and performance against growth KPIs. In this role, the successful candidate will also have regular visibility and direct access to the Chief Financial Officer with opportunities to also present to other members of the Executive Leadership Team. The Senior Financial Analyst will be a dynamic and team-oriented individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and updating financial models to support the long-range financial planning for the organization
  • Support the preparation of the 5-year strategic business plan, including contributing key assumptions and inputs for financial forecasts and preparing materials to communicate the strategic direction of the business
  • Understand financial results and forecasts in order to communicate business performance to key stakeholders
  • Support shareholder reporting, including quarterly board reports and other shareholder presentations intended to communicate broader company priorities and performance against key initiatives
  • Support decision-making on capital structure for the company, including optimizing the use of all credit facilities, and supporting new financing initiatives intended to optimize shareholder return and execute on the strategic plan
  • Perform analysis to support refinancing initiatives, including the annual renewal for various debt facilities
  • Participate in the monthly forecast process and annual strategic planning process by providing inputs and modelling assumptions for the long-term business plan
  • Contribute to various analyses for external stakeholders to support financing initiatives;
  • Collaborate with teams across finance and other business functions to plan for capital requirements and assess performance;
  • Contribute ideas towards future Enercare strategic initiatives, acting specifically as a finance subject matter expert;
  • Fulfill ad-hoc requests from Private Equity sponsors;
  • Special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Professional accounting or finance designation required (e.g. CPA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent)
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in Corporate Finance, banking, valuation or business planning (experience with structured finance is beneficial)
  • Experience in advisory (valuation or transaction services) or private equity is considered an asset
  • Ability to interpret financial data to understand identify trends, assess commercial impacts, and communicate results with reference to underlying business drivers
  • Proficiency in excel, including financial modelling skills required
  • Understanding of key valuation metrics e.g. IRR, NPV, leverage etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills and experience communicating with the leadership functions
  • A self-starter with strong attention to detail and a focus on meeting deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize, critically analyze, solve and where appropriate, escalate issues
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Power Point
