Job Opportunity: Experienced Punjabi-Speaking Caregiver – Abbotsford, BC
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Punjabi-speaking caregiver to provide in-home support (home care) for a bed-bound Punjabi-speaking client with dementia in the Abbotsford area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with personal hygiene, including changing adult briefs (Depends)
- Provide regular positioning in bed to prevent pressure sores (bedsores)
- Assist with feeding and meal support
- Offer companionship and respectful communication
- Ensure a safe and clean environment
Must be patient, dependable, and compassionate. Must be okay to be trained in her routine and preferred methods of care.
Schedule: Thursdays, Fridays, & Sundays 2pm-4:30pm and/or potential for overnight shifts and longer day shifts once comfortable in routine and independant care.
Preferred Qualifications:
Health Care Assistant (HCA) certification or equivalent experience
CPR/First Aid certification
Further Requirements:
- Smart phone savvy for use of during shifts to clock in and out and do visit notes
- Complete a criminal record check
- Consistent job performance & attendance our clients can rely on
- Reliable transportation
- Professional demeanour and respectful attitude
- Flexible availability
- Previous caregiving and or elder care experience
- 1+ professional references
- Applicants must reside in British Columbia
