Job Location: Moose Factory, ON

Position Summary:
The Director Facility Management is responsible for the strategic oversight, operational management, and maintenance of all MCFN-owned, leased, or rented facilities across Moose Factory, Moosonee, Cochrane, Timmins, and future locations in Ontario. This role ensures facilities are safe, compliant, and efficiently operated to meet community needs, while also leading the development and management of specialized initiatives, including the Institute for Far North EPR Training & Development (IFNET), Far North EPR Economic Sector, Emergency Dispatching System & Centre, and Assisted Living Facilities. The Facility Manager will supervise staff, manage budgets, ensure regulatory compliance with the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and Ontario Fire Code (OFC), including Building Occupancy and Fire Regulations (BOFR), and foster partnerships to support MCFN’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum: Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in Business Administration, Facility Management, Program Management, or a closely related field.

  • Three (3) years of experience in facility and/or program management.

  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience demonstrating effective leadership management techniques.

  • Experience managing multiple facilities across geographically dispersed locations, preferably in remote/northern Ontario.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) training and development.

  • Experience working with First Nations communities or in culturally sensitive environments.

  • Experience with lease management, contract negotiations, and partnership building.

  • Valid Ontario Building Code (OBC) certification (e.g., BCIN – Building Code Identification Number) in relevant categories (e.g., General, HVAC, Plumbing, or Fire Protection) or willingness to obtain within in 2 years of hire.

  • Knowledge of Ontario Fire Code (OFC) requirements, including fire safety planning and compliance.

  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) from the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA).

  • Building Management Systems (BMS) or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) training.

  • WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification.

  • Proficiency in maintaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, specifications, and technical manuals.

  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and facility/program management software (e.g., BMS, CMMS).

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, with a track record of meeting deadlines and budgets.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong partnership-building skills with government agencies, private sector, and other First Nations.

  • Provide a valid Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check)

  • Ability to speak and understand the Cree language is an asset.

  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.

  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License (Class G) is required

Salary: $92,098.50 – $116.649.00

Duration: Permanent with 3-months probation
