TEMPORARY FULL-TIME ACCOUNTING CLERK - PAYABLE
at the
LINDSAY EDUCATION CENTRE in Finance****Services

This temporary, full-time (12 month) position is available starting immediately to August 31, 2026**.** This posting is to fill an existing position. As a member of the Finance Department, this position shares the responsibility of providing timely and accurate financial information to the Board's various stakeholders. Specifically, this position is responsible for the maintenance of the accounts payable system.
Duties of the position include:
- Process invoices for purchase order and non-purchase order related vendors on a daily basis.
- Process other invoices as required on an ongoing basis.
- Verify invoice prices to purchase order values, closing purchase orders as necessary, review for appropriate budget codes, ensure appropriate signing authority has been completed and process for payment within vendor terms.
- Accurately monitor invoice terms, tax categories and rebate status.
- Verify “receipt of goods” in the Board's financial system (Atrieve).
- Enter invoices into the financial system (Atrieve).
- Liaise with the Board's Purchasing Department or suppliers with regard to invoice discrepancies or irregularities.
- Communicate with school officials and vendors to provide or secure information.
- Reconcile supplier statements and accounts.
- Provide backup support to the Senior Accounting Clerk.
Qualifications Required:
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma plus additional courses in accounting;
- Between one to three years of accounting experience;
- Experience working in a computerized environment, using multi-screen database systems, with a good working knowledge of and experience using Excel spreadsheets, other Windows-based software programs and Google Suite.
- A good working knowledge of the Atrieve software would be an asset.
- Computer input and data entry experience necessary, with an aptitude for detail and accuracy;
- Personal qualities of maturity, tact and discretion.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills combined with excellent organizational skills.
- A proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use judgement and discretion when handling confidential information.
Hours of work: 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Hourly Rate:$26.58 (minimum) - $28.5****1 (maximum)
Point Band:7(Unionized Position)
