SUMMER STUDENT – PROGRAM ASSISTANT, SUPPORT SERVICES (SCARBOROUGH)
About the role
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Support Service Supervisor at Mon Sheong Scarborough Long Term Care Centre, the incumbent must maintain a comfortable, safe, and aesthetic environment for the residents, staff and visitors.
Main Duties:
- Maintain data files with new entries and modifications;
- Check and update all inventory items;
- Assist with receiving deliveries;
- Label, fold, and deliver laundry;
- Groom and nurture plants;
- Help with deep cleaning of the workplace which includes dining room tables and chairs;
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education;
- Working experience in a Senior Home an asset;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Bilingual in English and Chinese is preferred.
Other Requirements:
All summer student positions are funded to promote employment opportunities for students, thus the duration of these positions are subject to funding approval. To be eligible for the program, job applicants should meet the following criteria:

be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;

be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred underthe Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*for the duration of the employment and;
-
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
