What can you expect from this position?
Reporting to the Head of Airport Safety, Security and Emergency Services, you will support the execution of safety and regulatory compliance initiatives, assisting with research, documentation, reporting, and coordination across Safety & Security teams.
As a Student, Safety & Security, you will:
- Assist with research, report creation, and preparation of documentation for internal stakeholders and external agencies.
- Support the Safety & Security team in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data related to compliance, inspections, and regulatory obligations.
- Participate in safety and security initiatives, including audit preparation, program administration, and continuous improvement activities.
- Attend team meetings and assist in various capacities across the Corporate Safety & Security group, contributing to communications, updates, and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal partners, including Communications, Operations, and Technology groups, to help advance safety-related projects and initiatives.
- Support tracking and documentation of regulatory changes and assist in maintaining accurate and organized records.
This is the role for you, if you have:
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university program related to Aviation Operations, Regulatory Compliance, Safety, Security, Public Policy, or related fields.
- Understanding of the Canadian Aviation Security Regulations or an interest in learning about safety and regulatory frameworks in the aviation sector.
- Strong research, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office/365 suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) to support report creation and documentation.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build effective working relationships with co‑workers and external partners.
- The ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position.
