  • Interpret and apply civil drawings, specifications, and engineering documents to direct crew activities in the field
  • Ensure all concrete forming activities — including walls, columns, footings, slabs, and elevated decks — are executed to specification
  • Review and approve forming layouts, shoring arrangements, and falsework setups prior to concrete placement
  • Hold crew members accountable to workmanship standards and address quality deficiencies promptly and directly
  • Perform regular walkdowns of the worksite to proactively identify hazards, inefficiencies, and areas needing correction
  • Foster a strong safety culture by setting the example and addressing unsafe behaviours immediately
  • Chair daily crew safety meetings and ensure pre-task planning is completed before all critical activities
  • Track and manage crew hours, material usage, and tool inventory; flag discrepancies or shortages to the Superintendent
  • Complete and submit accurate field documentation including daily reports, timesheets, and quality records
  • Support the growth of Journeymen and Apprentices through active coaching and on-the-job mentorship
  • Participate in project planning meetings and contribute field-level input on sequencing and constructability
  • Coordinate with other trades and site supervision to minimize conflicts and maintain workflow
  • Perform hands-on carpentry work as needed to support the crew and maintain project momentum
  • Perform other duties as required
