Posting Period: Posted until filled As a member of an inter-professional team, the role of the Registered Nurse (RN) at Providence Care is to deliver safe, effective, patient centred care to assigned patients in a non-acute setting as outlined by hospital policies and procedures and the Standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario. Working at full scope of practice, the overall function of the RN is to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the clinical conditions and transition of the patient and to enhance the quality of life by meeting the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each person.
Skills And Qualifications Required
- Active, unrestricted license to practice with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current CPR certificate
- Nursing Diploma from an approved university or college
- BNSc preferred
Position Responsibilities
- Accountable for his/her decisions and actions even when acting interdependently in consultation and collaboration with other members of the health care team
- Supports the hospital system in addressing ethical issues within nursing and the organization
- Acts as a role model, preceptor and mentor for the profession and for other Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses and nursing students, and is committed to the values of the nursing profession and to the mission, vision and values of Providence Care
- Maintains privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient, staff and organizational data
- Respects the well-being, beliefs and wishes of others
