Accounting Business Analyst - (ERP Project) - 3 Month Term
About the role
Job Title: Accounting Business Analyst Reports to: Director of Finance Term: 3 months Pay Range: $ 86,266 - $ 98,000 Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Business Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of programs and projects within the Langley School District including reporting and program administration. This position ensures accurate tracking, allocation, and reporting of program specific revenues and expenditures, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and supports the development and maintenance of various systems and processes. This role will leverage a strong understanding of computing fundamentals, technical systems, and accounting processes to identify areas for improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between District staff, departments and external parties to implement and improve programs of the Langley School District.
- Conduct and oversee tracking, maintaining and reporting of key performance indicators and other relevant data to deliver to senior management.
- Participate in management and operational meetings and other related discussions.
- Provide summary reports and data analysis to senior management.
- Utilize various software programs of the Langley School District to build reports, analyze data and enhance usability.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to troubleshoot and enhance the software utilized by the Langley School District.
- Support the implementation of new software, ERP systems and atomization through:
- Analyzing business processes to find improvement and modernization opportunities.
- Working with teams to assess workflows and strategize transitions to new processes.
- Performing temporary departmental duties to support system implementation.
- Applying change management methods to ensure seamless adoption.
- Training staff on updated systems and processes.
- Using software functionality, update data within software and ERP systems utilized by the Langley School District.
- Form program and project specific projections and forecasts using historical, market and industry data.
- Coordinate the actionable feedback and responses received on reporting, initiating or suggesting to management changes in processes or data.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and software.
- Experience with financial systems and data manipulation.
- Experience working as an administrator in financial systems, ideally with past implementation experience.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Familiarity with education sector finance or public sector environments is an asset.
- 2-3 years of business analysis or accounting experience.
- Hold or be near completion of holding a CPA designation in good standing.
