Electronic Disclosure Clerk
About the role
This position works in the Police - Major Case Management organizational unit. This is complex clerical work entailing the application of specialized and technical work methods and procedures. An incumbent of this class reviews, assembles, organizes and consolidates electronic disclosure packages pertaining to criminal investigations for submission to Crown Counsel; and liaises with and provides assistance to file coordinators in the development and review of file information throughout the investigation and prior to charge submission. An incumbent also updates and maintains procedures and protocols for the digitization of investigative information and develops business processes and management solutions to support the data and documentation retrieval for package completion. Considerable independent judgement and action are exercised within established guidelines, while unusual problems or policy matters are referred to a supervisor. Work performance is reviewed by a supervisor for conformance with established procedures and effectiveness of services rendered. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include the completion of up to high school graduation supplemented by courses related to the work including electronic disclosure training, plus considerable related records management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of the requirements and capabilities of the data systems in relation to the work performed; of the rules, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to the assembly, organization and consolidation of electronic disclosure packages pertaining to criminal investigations; of methods and techniques applied in conducting quality assurance audits. Ability to ensure that disclosure packages are in compliance with established protocols; to identify key information and data anomalies and to make corrections as appropriate; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts; to work with minimal supervision. The incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.
Schedule: 70 hours bi-weekly; [Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Mutual Agreement between Monday to Sunday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)]
