Reports To: President/Executive Manager
Salary: Starting at $125,000, commensurate with experience

Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to oversee all financial aspects of our organization, lead our accounting team, and provide strategic financial guidance to support our continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee daily cash management and financial transactions - Generate monthly financial reports and conduct detailed analysis - Review monthly financial statements and operating statistics - Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy - Prepare financial forecasts and annual budgeting - Manage cash flow forecasting and performance analysis
Controls & Compliance
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls and processes - Manage monthly schedule reconciliations and internal audits across the group - Ensure timely and accurate government remittances (HST, payroll taxes, WSIB, etc.) - Coordinate with external accountants for year-end preparations - Oversee audit processes and ensure regulatory compliance
Leadership & Operations
- Lead and mentor accounting department team (3-8 employees) - Manage weekly payroll processing - Provide financial support and guidance to on-site managers - Deliver costing and financial advisory services to manufacturing and sales departments - Support HR administration functions
Strategic Support
- Assist with month-end billing processes and transaction reviews - Complete special project financial analysis as required - Support business development with financial modeling and analysis - Handle additional administrative and accounting duties as needed
Required Qualifications

CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum 7-10 years of progressive financial management experience

5+ years in a senior financial leadership role (CFO, Finance Director, Controller)

Experience with multi-entity organizations preferred

Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS)

Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel, and financial software

Experience with payroll systems and government remittances
Desired Skills & Attributes
- Manufacturing or group company experience an asset - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Excellent leadership and team development skills - Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills - High attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities - Strategic thinking with operational execution capabilities
