The Globe System offers strong, unique, and customer-valued advantages over other treatments on the market, and leading physicians are already using it and helping to share our story.

We have obtained FDA approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe® Pulsed Field System. This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patients!

We are seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join our growing team. We currently have close to 225,000 square feet of office, manufacturing, and warehouse space spread out between ten buildings in the same business park. We anticipate continued growth as our manufacturing ramps up.

You will report to the Maintenance Manager and will work closely with the Equipment Maintenance Team on any facilities issues related to our cleanrooms.

Please note, this opportunity is an on-site work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Meaningful work you will be a part of

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Hands-on building and equipment repairs and maintenance: doors; lighting; flooring; blinds; minor plumbing (plugged toilets, leaky faucets); furniture reconfiguration and moves; salting and snow removal; sourcing and purchasing materials; running errands.
  • Vendor/contractor coordination: locksmith, appliance repair, furniture installation, fire alarm system inspections including backflow preventors, waste and recycling, and our internal janitorial team.
  • Vendor/contractor coordination in conjunction with the Equipment Maintenance Team (where relevant): HVAC, roof and window leaks, pest control.
  • Projects: managing small improvement projects using external subcontractors; implementing facilities actions from the health and safety committee.

What you bring to the team

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:

  • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience with building repairs and maintenance
  • Comfortable with using a variety of hand tools
  • Proven experience to work independently; you are self-motivated and like to get things done
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Completed Red Seal certification in a relevant trade (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.) or higher education in a related field is desirable (facilities management, engineering, etc.)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.); experience with facilities ticketing software, such as MaintainX, is a bonus
  • Knowledge of building, electrical, plumbing, fire, health and safety codes
  • Flexible and able to adapt to quickly changing priorities
  • A positive attitude, friendly, and welcoming manner when dealing with employees and external contacts

Compensation

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.

  • $65,000 - $97,000 (CAD Annually)
