About the role
Catholic Social Services is hiring a permanent Full Time Human Resources Coordinator to join our Edmonton Team. The HR Coordinator will perform a range of Payroll & Benefits administrative duties, including considerable data management, and provide support to the Payroll & Benefits team. This role requires a high level of accuracy, diligence and confidentiality. This role also requires excellent communication skills.
Employee Benefits Administration
- Enrollment & Changes: Process all new hire benefit enrollments, terminations, and qualifying life event changes (e.g., marriage, birth, loss of coverage) accurately and in a timely manner within the HRIS/benefits platform.
- Wellness Program Support: Assist in the coordination and communication of company wellness initiatives.
Disability & Leave Management Support
- Documentation & Tracking: Serve as the initial point of contact for employees requesting information on various leaves (e.g., WCB, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Unpaid Medical Leave).
- Claims Submission: Facilitate the submission of initial disability claims and ensure all necessary paperwork from the employee and the company is provided to the carrier/third-party administrator.
- Return to Work: Coordinate and communicate with employees, managers, and the carrier regarding return-to-work dates and any necessary accommodations or restrictions.
Payroll Support & Administration
- Time & Attendance: Assist in the administration and auditing of the time and attendance system, ensuring manager approvals and employee sign-offs are completed by established deadlines.
- Query Resolution: Serve as a resource for answering basic employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and time reporting.
General Administrative & Compliance
- Record Keeping: Maintain and organize confidential employee files related to benefits, payroll, and disability in compliance with company policy and legal requirements.
- Data entry: Ensure data integrity by regularly auditing and updating employee information in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Audits: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports as requested.
