Empire Roofing Corporation is looking for an experienced Roofing Sheet Metal Fabricato****r for our shop in GTA, ON, to join our team! We are a very busy construction/roofing company that serves the industrial and commercial sectors. For over 40+ years, Empire Roofing Corporation has continued to grow our workforce and is looking for individuals who are looking for full-time, all-year-round work. This role is strictly focused on roofing sheet metal fabrication**—no welding is required or performed.**
Primary Responsibilities
- Fabricate metal components for roofing systems, including edge metals, flashing, and custom accessories
- Operate metalworking equipment such as brakes, shears, rollers, and presses
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders accurately
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal to precise specs
- Safely operate a propane-powered counterbalance forklift to handle materials and load deliveries.
- Deliver fabricated items to job sites when required
Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in roofing-related sheet metal fabrication
- Proficiency in operating propane counterbalance forklifts
- Strong ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- Skilled with fabrication tools and equipment
- Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and good with math
- Valid driver’s license; forklift certification required
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification preferred
Tools & Equipment Used
- Tin snips, tape measures, utility knives
- Sheet metal brakes, shears, and rollers
- Welding equipment and forklifts (counterbalance, propane)
- PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, and fall protection gear
Work Environment
- Physically demanding role involving lifting, bending, and standing
- Team-oriented setting focused on precision, safety, and timeliness
- 90% of the work is performed in an indoor fabrication shop
- Occasionally perform on-roof tasks when fabrication support and installation assistance are needed
