About the role

Job Description

The Coordinator, Communications is accountable for coordinating functions related to Circle of Care’s digital properties, printed materials, and internal and external communications channels. They will build support for Circle of Care’s communications initiatives in alignment to the organization’s business strategy and brand. The Coordinator demonstrates integrity, professionalism, critical thinking, and strong attention to detail

We are looking for: full-time permanent Communications Coordinator

Hours of Work: 34 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 4:30pm, Friday 8:30 to 3:30pm. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

Digital Newsletter Content

  • Coordinate the writing and design of the Care Mail internal staff e-newsletter.
  • Coordinate the writing and design of the Inside the Circle internal PSW e-newsletter.
  • Design and write the monthly Volunteer Care Mail in coordination with the Volunteer Resources department.
  • Design and write the monthly Client Connections newsletter, Community Report newsletter, and the quarterly stakeholder newsletter (Care Corner).
  • Maintain mailing list databases for email communications to clients, volunteers, government relations and other stakeholders.
  • Design and edit other digital communication collateral as required.

Social Media and Website Content

  • Develop and implement digital content that demonstrates Circle of Care’s strategic priorities through multiple vehicles, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and the corporate website.
  • Maintain and contribute to a master content calendar and provide support with evaluating success of content on social media and web.
  • Monitor Circle of Care’s social media campaigns and day-to-day activities, and flag any issues that may come up (comments, inbox messages, etc.).
  • Report on all site and social media metrics to evaluate performance with the tracking dashboard, using tools such as Google Analytics.

Administration

  • Update organizational information on other websites as requested (i.e. Central Healthline, Ontario Health atHome, partner sites).
  • Work with Circle of Care departments to ensure that Circle of Care branding is upheld.

Management of Relationships with Internal and External Partners

  • Work cooperatively with internal departments, business partners and vendors.
  • Support the Communications team in their work with internal departments on communication needs related to business initiatives, client communications, operational changes, learning & development requirements, community outreach and volunteer opportunities, and other areas as needed.
  • Liaise with external vendors and partners on communication-related initiatives that highlight the organization’s services and interests.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a related undergraduate degree (e.g. Corporate Communications, Marketing, Journalism, etc.) from an accredited educational institution.
  • We welcome recent graduates, prior experience in communications or within the health care sector is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all work.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills.
  • Experience with current Content Management System (e.g. WordPress) and email management platform (e.g. MailChimp, ContactMonkey) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is an asset.
  • A keen eye for print and digital design, with rudimentary skills in graphic design, photography and videography being an asset.
  • Proactive, diplomatic and confident with the ability to develop, foster and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization.
