The Role
This position is responsible for supporting various marketing and communications programs and initiatives within the Marketing and Communications team. Specifically, this role is the key point of contact for Commercial Mortgages Group (CMG), Development Finance Group (DFG), Human Resources (HR) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) marketing and assists with the management of key projects such as the Blogs and campaigns for CMG, DFG, and employee spotlight campaign as well as key CSR projects such as Importance of Home and the Habitat payroll match, Caring and Sharing as well as acting as the key point of contact for our charitable partners, Habitat, Canadian Mental Health Association and Canadian Cancer Society. This role works to support MCAP and all the MCAP Brands, including MERIX and RMG Mortgages.
Marketing Campaigns & Projects
- Manage and oversee the MCAP Habitat for Humanity relationship and associated key campaigns; Importance of Home, Key to Hope, Employee Payroll match and others. Responsible for yearly planning, promotion and implementation of key activities and campaigns. Includes the development of content and providing management of day-to-day logistics as well as yearly planning and promotion.
- Manage and oversee the RMG relationship with Canadian Mental Health Association and all key projects to encourage support and donations from Brokers and Homeowners as well as corporate matching
- Manage and oversee the MERIX relationship with Canadian Cancer Society, any related campaigns and events
- Work with the VP Marketing to create marketing strategy
- Support the MCAP strategy and vision through planning, management and implementation of marketing campaigns and projects
- Assist in the identification of marketing opportunities
- Participate in summarizing results and analytics for campaigns
- Create and manage content and campaign calendars
- Collaborate with internal and external resources to create and manage content execution
- Coordinate promotions, campaigns and communications for the for CMG, DFG, HR, CSR and corporate initiatives
- Write and/or coordinate communications and marketing copy as required to support the overall marketing and communications plan
- Assist in implementing MCAP’s external social media communications strategy
- Ensure communications are clear, consistent, appropriately branded, and follow brand standards
- Oversee annual gifting programs for CMG, DFG and investors
Event Planning and Execution
- Oversee and manage events as required for CMG and DFG
- Act as a support to other events to across the business
- Provide needed event promotion or campaign support for all lines of business
Social Media
- Support the planning MCAP’s external social media communications strategy
- Development of content distribution strategy to ensure digital content crosses all channels – work with marketing communications lead to integrate content distribution through social channels when relevant to campaigns
Internal and External Communications
- Ensure communications are clear, consistent, appropriately branded, and follow brand standards
General Support
- Act as key point of contact with the CMG, DFG, HR
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure our needs are being met
- Review and proofread output from external vendors and ensure adherence to brand standards
- Backup of general administrative support, including but not limited to processing invoices, overseeing the department budget, managing the team inbox, overseeing promotional item requests and ensuring items meet branding guidelines.
Budget Oversight & Management
- Oversee and manage budget as it relates to campaigns, gifting, and swag
- Assist in the preparation of the annual marketing budget
- Approve invoices and payments for disbursements
- Adhere to budget and find efficiencies
Financial Administration Oversight & Reporting
- Manage the administration of invoicing and credit card statements for the marketing team
- Review and oversee the coding and the processing of invoices and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Track, reconcile, and review expenses and spendings against the MAC budget and ensure accurate reconciliation of expenses to the marketing budget tracker from all team members
- Finding and creating efficiencies
Product Launches & Promotions
- Assist with planning and execution of product launches and national sales promotions (as required)
Marketing Processes and Standards
- Comply with marketing standards and follow set processes for routine work
- Assist with the development of marketing processes
- Contribute ideas for improving marketing standards and processes
Online Store, Swag & Promo
- Oversight and management of the online store program, corporate swag programs and gifting, including the sourcing, quoting and coordination with the preferred vendor
- Work with the Marketing Coordinator in ensuring the online store is functioning optimally, with inventory stocked at appropriate levels, seasonal items are introduced in a timely matter, tradeshow items are refreshed and stocked to support BDMs throughout the tradeshow season.
- Work with the Marketing Coordinator in providing full reporting of the online store, including tracking users, purchases, top selling items and inventory replenishments
- Work with Finance in providing monthly reporting for financial reconciliation of the online store
- Provide oversight of swag requests
Lead and Manage Staff
- Champion the company’s Vision, Mission and Values as set out in the Strategic Plan both internally and externally within the industry. .
- Establish, monitor and communicate performance standards to direct reports reinforcing individual results, work quality, continuous improvement, teamwork and achievement of MCAP’s objectives.
- Educate, coach and counsel staff to ensure they are empowered to effectively handle their roles in a confident and professional manner.
- Ensure a continuous improvement culture is established and encouraged.
- Demonstrate leadership in order to focus staff toward our goals and to overcome obstacles to our success
- Oversee Marketing Coordinator in supporting, mentoring and growing them with the team
- Work with Marketing Coordinator in identifying and creating efficiencies
- Oversee Marketing Coordinator in tradeshow support and event support with coordination of events and swag items while providing on-site support to contribute to the success of events
What You Bring To The Team
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a marketing or communications role
- Solid understanding of campaign management and digital deployment tools
- Solid marketing project management background
- Knowledge of mortgage industry and mortgage brokering in Canada would be an asset
- Knowledge of professional communications and marketing principles
- Ability to maintain confidentiality on all sensitive matters
- Enthusiastic, creative and experienced in working effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Attention to detail
- Ability to interact with a wide range of internal and external contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
