Your opportunity at Arc’teryx:
As a Technical Developer 2, you manage product from concept through to production readiness directly with the Product Creation team and our T1 factory partners. Your innovative and solutions-focused approach to development ensures that each product you work on meets Arc’teryx design intent and supply chain requirements.
This is a one-year contract with an expected end of May 2027. The role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is expected to be performed on-location.
Meet your future team:
You will be part of a focused team of Product Developers, Designers, Pattern Makers, and Cut & Sew experts that work on creating innovative product. This team builds strong relationships with cross-functional partners and factories to realize ideas into commercialized successes.
If you were in the Technical Developer 2 (Temporary) role now, here are some of the core activities you would be responsible for:
- Creating tech packs to communicate specifications for aesthetic, construction, fit and cost
- Communicating the fit, design and construction comments and corrections clearly to factories
- Executing the development of product from concept through commercialization, including interpreting design intent and coordinating prototypes and sample creation
- Providing thorough product information and construction information to enable efficient sourcing and purchase of raw materials
- Compiling all product materials, construction, and bill of materials (BOM) information, resulting in efficient raw material sourcing/planning and accurately produced finished product
- Ensuring calendar deliverables are met
- Supporting the business in meeting FOB targets in partnership with cross-functional teams
- Supporting and influencing the development process to achieve commercial viability of designs through collaboration with Design, Materials Development, Raw Materials Supply Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams
- Developing and maintaining accurate sample garment measurement specifications in our Product Line Management System (Centric)
- Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain

- Collaborating with our 3D Digital Team on CLO3D capabilities for utilization opportunities with vendors
- Providing engagement training for current and future vendors
- Strengthening vendor relations through effective communication and travel to both domestic and offshore vendors
- Evaluating the prototype process and strategizing on how to improve turnaround timelines
Are you our next Technical Developer 2?
- You have 5+ years’ experience in product development, technical design or pattern making, with a focus on technical, innovative apparel and equipment
- You have an Undergraduate Degree OR equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience
- You have a strong knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and sourcing
- You are proficient in PLM, Adobe creative suite and Microsoft Office
- You have a knowledge of and previous experience in product costing
- You have a comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction and fit
- You have a complete understanding of the product lifecycle process - from ideation to consumer, including production attributes
- You have experience effectively communicating with and travelling to domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers
- You are comfortable communicating with factories via technical drawings and fit photos
- You are detailed and accuracy oriented, with strong organizational skills
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- You demonstrate initiative, agility, and commitment, while balancing autonomy and collaboration
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and develop the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do right
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity, and thrive in a fast paced, diverse, ever evolving and values led environment
- You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement

$82,000 - $102,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD $82,000 - CAD $102,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
