The Opportunity:
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Student Mechanical Designer to join our Vancouver office, beginning January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to gain valuable hands-on experience within a dynamic mechanical team in the consulting industry. This position will be Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours a week.
Compensation: $23 / Hour
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of drawings and schematics with the design of mechanical HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems in commercial, institutional, residential, public and private facilities.
- Assist Engineers and Designers with the preparation of technical drawings.
- Operate computer-assisted design (CAD), Revit and drafting workstations.
- Attend and contribute to internal office and project related meetings.
- Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness.
- Work with project team and Project Manager to ensure on-time project completion.
- Escalate resource issues to the appropriate Project Manager.
- Provide technical and administrative support through all phases of the project.
- Strive to ensure quality and timely delivery of finished products to clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing undergraduate studies in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.
- Working knowledge of experience with AutoCAD and/or REVIT is an asset.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and applications including Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook.
- The desire to work in a team-based environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines.
