Take Your Career to New Heights with Flair Airlines

We’re here to make air travel affordable for everyone, and we’re looking for talented individuals who want to help us continue changing the industry for the better. As Canada’s most reliable airline, we're all about offering real value. As we continue to expand our network, increase flight frequencies, and introduce more services, we’re looking for passionate team members to help us in our mission to make air travel accessible for everyone. We know who we are, and we’re confident in our approach—but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Your Team:

Join Flair’s Airport Operations team, where operational discipline and accountability support safe and efficient performance across the network. The Regional Airport Operations Manager (RAOM) is responsible for delivering strong operational results across assigned airport locations, ensuring alignment with Flair’s safety, service, and efficiency standards. Reporting to the General Manager, Airport Operations, this role provides leadership and oversight of daily airport activities through structured coordination with contracted service providers, airport authorities, and internal teams.

The RAOM is accountable for maintaining regulatory and company compliance, driving performance against key operational metrics, and ensuring a consistent and reliable airport experience for passengers and operational partners.

This position is based on-site at our Vancouver (YVR) office.

A Day in the Life:

Operational Performance:

  • Accountable for achieving and maintaining key operational performance metrics across assigned airports, including on-time performance (OTP), mishandled and damaged baggage, ancillary revenue, customer satisfaction (CSAT), and passenger processing efficiency (including kiosk throughput).
  • Monitor daily performance and implement timely corrective actions to address underperformance, recurring trends, or service failures.
  • Conduct regular station visits to review operations, observe frontline performance, and ensure compliance with company standards and service-level agreements.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Flair Airlines, contracted service providers, and Airport Authorities for all day-to-day operational matters.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Escalate and resolve operational issues in coordination with corporate departments and airport management teams, ensuring clear communication and follow-through.

Safety & Quality Assurance:

  • Promote and uphold a safety-first culture across all airport operations in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the Safety and Quality teams to support achievement of Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs).
  • Support safety event investigations and root cause analyses, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and sustained at the station level.
  • Encourage and support a Just Culture environment where reporting, learning, and continuous improvement are actively reinforced.

Incident and Delay Management:

  • Lead or support investigations into operational delays, baggage discrepancies, customer-impacting events, and other performance-related issues.
  • Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and communication of incidents, including the development and execution of action plans to prevent recurrence.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement:

  • Provide operational guidance, feedback, and direction to airport teams and service providers to support consistent delivery of Flair’s standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and optimize the guest experience across assigned airports.
  • Ensure all operational activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, airport rules, and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Role:

The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values: honesty, efficiency, accountability, and respect, while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:

  • Education:
    • Post-secondary education in Aviation, Business, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
    • Additional training in root cause analysis, project management, or operational efficiency methodologies is considered an asset.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a supervisory or management role within an airport or operational environment.
    • Demonstrated experience working with contracted service providers, airport authorities, or ground handling teams.
    • Proven experience interpreting operational performance metrics (e.g., OTP, baggage performance, customer satisfaction) and implementing corrective actions to improve results.
    • Experience supporting or leading investigations related to operational incidents, delays, or safety events is an asset.
    • Strong understanding of Canadian aviation regulations, airport operating procedures, and safety/security requirements.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence, guide, and hold service providers accountable to performance expectations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with airport authorities, contracted partners, and internal teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret operational data and implement effective corrective actions.
    • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in fast-paced, dynamic, or high-pressure airport environments.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple stations, competing priorities, and time-sensitive operational needs.
    • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory and company policies.
    • Ability to travel frequently and adapt to flexible work hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Proficiency with common office and operational systems, including Microsoft Office and airport-related operational platforms.
  • Requirements:
    • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
