The Opportunity:

If you have an expertise for brand-building, story-telling, and developing rich and rewarding relationships with clients and public stakeholders, then the role of Vice President National Marketing for BGO Properties is the perfect opportunity to take your career to the next level. As part of a recent global rebranding of BGO, BGO Properties is a distinct business segment in Canada focused on attracting top tier tenants to our properties and delivering outstanding property management services to the communities who work, shop, and live in our buildings. Your focus will be on establishing the brand story and identity for our managed commercial properties across Canada. Working alongside a team of niche marketing experts from our other asset classes, this role will report to the Managing Director, National Leasing and Business Development where the implementation of your marketing strategies will directly support the overall growth or our business in Canada.

What you will do:

  • Lead a team to guide and directly implement branding and marketing initiatives for all Office, Industrial and Retail properties under the management of BGO Properties.
  • Guide and foster the exchange of ideas and activities to promote the implementation of creative strategies within the marketing group. Stay abreast of new trends and developments in customer service and innovation.
  • Develop, implement and maintain digital marketing strategies and programs which may include blogging and storytelling, the build out of new social media channels for BGO Properties while providing national oversight for our commercial properties’ social and digital channels, website, content curation campaigns, and online community management.
  • Lead the development of branding for new, and rebranding for existing, office, retail and industrial properties in our managed portfolio.
  • Responsible for the implementation, onboarding and maintenance of the Commercial Edge leasing platform. Find ways to enhance our presence and outreach for available leasing opportunities with the real estate community.
  • Support the property Specialty Leasing Program with a focus on national and regional sponsorships and explore opportunities for unique tenancies and start-ups to supplement the Retail teams’ overall permanent leasing asset strategies and merchandising. Review and consider alternative opportunities to outsource specialty leasing.
  • Work with the Leasing team and source new innovative ways to marketing office, industrial and retail space and maximizing BGO's reach to the brokerage community and potential new tenants.
  • Produce annual marketing plans with established goals and objectives and manage all associated budgets.
  • Develop internal communications channels to effectively bring property management and leasing teams into the fold on all national marketing campaigns and initiatives. Produce quarterly briefings with BGO Properties leadership team on marketing plans.
  • Assist in planning and production of presentations for client-facing materials, industry events and conferences.
  • Work with the Leasing team and source new innovative ways to marketing office, industrial and retail space and maximizing BGO's reach to the brokerage community and potential new tenants.
  • Establish strong industry relationships and participate in industry functions to further promote the BGO brand.
  • Embrace and proactively support BGO’s culture of environmental and social responsibility including all aspect of sustainability.
  • Lead and promote a consistent, robust research effort into each market and report on trends. Lead the gathering and analysis of data from campaigns and advertising efforts and develop reporting metrics.
  • Collaborate with BGO Living Marketing team to ensure BGO’s residential platform is supported by the overall BGO Properties Brand and Initiatives
  • Collaborate with BGO’s global corporate communications team on major campaigns including company-wide initiatives related to philanthropy, public affairs and employee engagement

Who you are:

  • University degree or diploma in related area (marketing, public relations, advertising or business administration).

  • Minimum 10 years of marketing experience preferably in a commercial real estate environment.

  • Some working knowledge of graphic design software and basic/intermediate level graphic design capability.

  • A strong and demonstrable understanding of digital and social media strategy, and experience with developing or overseeing the production of web-based content

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to develop and sustain productive and cooperative working relationships at all levels; ability to exercise confidentiality; committed to building relationships with industry peers and trade associations

  • Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and constant changes

  • Aptitude with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, web development, social media applications and listening tools, and graphic/publisher programs

  • Advanced understanding of marketing and customer experience concepts as they relate to the property management industry; ability to interpret, organize and analyze data (including financial data).

  • Ability for out-of-town travel

  • Must have a valid driver’s license at all times during employment.
