Job Title: Finance Administrator Student
Status: Summer Student (Canada Summer Jobs Grant)
Employment Type: Seasonal
Hours: 35 hours/week – ability to work flexible hours is required
Rate: $17.65 /hour
Language: Bilingualism (English/French) and other languages are considered an asset

Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, which aims to provide flexible and holistic services to help all young Canadians develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market by creating quality summer work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years.

Position Duties and Responsibilities
The Finance Administrator Student will provide support with accounts payable, accounts receivables, and special project reporting including:
- Preparing, verifying, and processing payables
- Process / print cheques, create online payment batches and coordinate approvals.
- Updating vendor database information
- Preparing and processing all incoming payments
- Inputting data in the Sage Accounting Application
- Updating Donor Management System and creating Tax Receipts
- Liaising with program staff and ensuring program needs are being met.
- Providing information about financial information to program staff
- Participating in financial data and information management
- Participating as an active team member in staff meetings
- Perform other related duties as required
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Must be between the ages of 15 to 30 and legally entitled to work in Canada;
- Working towards an Accounting Program or interest in Finance
- Strong excel skills
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work independently, and within a team approach;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Multi-tasking abilities;
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Excellent computer and administrative skills;
Ability to communicate fluently in English, spoken and written; French and/or other languages are an asset;
