#Role Overview
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to serve as the primary cybersecurity authority for MDS Aero Support. You will assume full responsibility for the organisation's information security posture, ensuring compliance with defence and commercial security standards while protecting critical aerospace engineering assets.
This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Enterprise Services. The successful candidate will be the go-to expert for all cybersecurity matters, working across both our Canadian and UK operations.
##What you'll be doing:
##Compliance & Governance
- Maintain and continuously improve compliance with DEF STAN 05-138, NIST 800-171/CMMC, and the Canadian Program for Cyber Security Certification (CPCSC)
- Develop and maintain control mapping documentation to demonstrate how MDS's security implementation satisfies requirements across multiple frameworks (e.g., mapping CMMC controls to ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or customer-specific standards)
- Assist in internal and external security audits, assessments, and certification activities
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior leadership and external stakeholders
##Security Operations
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents using Microsoft 365 E5 security tools (Defender, Sentinel, Purview)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation activities
- Manage endpoint detection and response (EDR) and security information and event management (SIEM) platforms
- Perform security reviews of new systems, applications, and third-party integrations
- Develop and test incident response plans and business continuity procedures
##Physical Security Liaison
- Collaborate with facilities management on building security matters
- Ensure alignment between physical and cyber security controls
- Support security requirements for classified and controlled environments
##Awareness & Advisory
- Deliver security awareness training and phishing simulations
- Provide expert guidance to project teams on security requirements
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer security inquiries and audits
##Who are we looking for?
##Essential
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity or information security roles
- Demonstrated experience with compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, CPCSC, or defence standards (e.g., DEF STAN 05-138)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 E5 security stack (Defender, Sentinel, Purview, Entra ID, Microsoft XDR and SIEM)
- Experience with vulnerability management, incident response, and security monitoring
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance (Canada: Secret + Controlled Goods; UK: SC)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the security function
##Desirable
- Experience in aerospace, defence, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with DEF STAN 05-138 or CMMC requirements
- Knowledge of operational technology (OT) security principles
- Experience supporting classified programmes or working in cleared environments
- Additional certifications such as CISM, CCSP, or Microsoft security certifications
- Experience mapping controls across multiple compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST to ISO, CMMC to customer standards)

Pay range : CDN $115,000- $125,000
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus & benefits.
