MISSION
The Project Scheduler will support the Project Managers and Resource Managers through the disciplined control and administration of the Company’s Master Schedule. The Master Schedule, managed in Primavera P6, contains all the tasks, durations (planned, actual and forecast), roles, resources and sequencing for all Projects across the Company.
The job holder is pivotal in ensuring that Project, Resource and Senior Managers have a good visibility of tasks execution and resource utilization across all areas of the business. The Project Scheduler owns the administration of Primavera P6 and functions as an internal consultant to the Project Managers, Project Engineers and Project Coordinators allocated in each project of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the organization, implementation and maintenance of the Master Project Schedule across the company.
- Provide administrative support for users for the effective management of the scheduling tool, Primavera P6.
- Maintain the Primavera P6 database including resources, WBS and EPS structure.
- Develop standard project schedule reports to present periodically and routinely to P6 users and various stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain schedule templates in Primavera P6.
- Support IT with the integration of P6 with other OSI databases to enhance company reporting and efficiencies.
- Assist with the development of Project Controls guideline, processes and work instructions.
- Work with Project Accountants and Project Managers to evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
- Monitor program schedules, optimize and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Develop effective resource leveling tools to enable Dr. Surgery to move into P6.
- Support Project Managers to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems.
- Liaise with external consultants to maintain and enhance the P6 database to enable full and effective use of the product.
KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Engineering Technologist Diploma or related field or Degree in Engineering; considerable direct experience in the role may be acceptable in lieu of formal education.
- Experience: 3-5 years in a project-based environment using Primavera P6.
- Skills: Proficient user of Primavera P6 or equivalent, ability to learn and understand the wider Project Management principles; excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with internal and external contacts
- Detail-oriented; organization skills in management of work and presentation of information
- Other: Must be eligible to meet requirements for security clearance as applicable
