Position Overview
Taotha School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Success Teacher to join our learning team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students' academic growth, social-emotional well-being, and overall success in school. This position works collaboratively with classroom teachers, administrators, and specialized support staff to provide targeted interventions and learning support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide small-group and one-on-one support for students requiring academic or behavioral intervention.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement inclusive education practices and differentiated instruction.
- Use assessment data (e.g., Fountas & Pinnell, EYE) to identify learning needs and track progress.
- Support implementation of literacy and numeracy interventions such as Road to Reading, LLI, and Science of Reading strategies.
- Work closely with the Student Services team (OT, SLP, psychology, behavior) to coordinate support plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and strategies for home support.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives in early literacy, wellness, and attendance improvement.
- Integrate Stoney language, culture, and land-based learning into classroom and intervention activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for certification).
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong understanding of literacy and numeracy development and intervention programming.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to culturally responsive and trauma-informed teaching practices.
- Knowledge of Stoney Nakoda language and culture is an asset.

The Stoney Education Authority headquarters are based on the Morley Reserve. It is controlled and funded by the Chiefs in Council via the Stoney Tribal Administration.
There are currently three schools, with a fourth primary school being built next to Morley Community School in Morley, Alberta.
