P&C Engineer II
About the role
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer II with a strong background in Power System Protection & Control. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, testing, and commissioning protection and control systems for utility and industrial power applications. This role involves both in-house testing and customer site support. Key Responsibilities Review customer specifications, single-line diagrams, schematics, logic diagrams, wiring drawings, and Bills of Materials. Configure multifunction protection relays and create relay setting files. Develop and execute test plans for protection and control systems. Perform relay testing using secondary injection test equipment. Configure communication protocols, including IEC 61850. Support factory testing, site testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities. Provide technical support during customer installations and commissioning. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering. 5+ years of experience in Protection & Control engineering. Hands-on experience with protective relay configuration, relay testing, and commissioning. Strong understanding of power system protection schemes including Distance, Transformer Differential, Line Differential, Bus, Feeder, Generator, and Motor Protection. Experience with IEC 61850 communication. Ability to interpret electrical drawings, protection schematics, and logic diagrams. Excellent communication and customer-facing skills. Willingness to travel up to 25%. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Omicron, Doble, or Megger secondary injection test equipment. Knowledge of GE, SEL, ABB, Siemens, or Schneider protection relays. Experience with substation automation, metering, and communication systems. Previous utility or turnkey Protection & Control project experience. P.Eng certification is an advantage.
