Job Description About Us Incorporated in 1955, Ocean Steel services several markets, including Atlantic Canada, the Eastern United States, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Although they specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, they also manufacture and install platework, such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks and custom process-equipment. Ocean Steel’s two New Brunswick plants include the original location in Saint John, as well as the York Steel Plant in Fredericton, which was acquired by Ocean Steel in 1995.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a broad range of equipment including handtools, conveyors, shotblast machines, paint equipment, welding equipment and rigging as well as CNC bandsaws, drills and punches.
- Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Perform inspections on various equipment and rigging
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs to overhead cranes
- Maintain parts inventory
- Maintain maintenance logs
- Assist in coordination of outside maintenance contractors and personnel
- Maintenance of building infrastructure
- Assist in Capital Project improvements
- Follow all safe work practices and procedures
- Working at heights
- Overtime as required
Requirements
- Red Seal Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic/Millwright with minimum 3-5 years relevant experience
- Electrical and PLC experience is a strong asset
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Pneumatics, schematics and machine drawings
